FAQs

1. Where does LaFairy Sails cruise inside the Halong Bay?

La Fairy Sails is the best choice for you to see both the magnificent Halong Bay and the primitive Bai Tu Long Bay with an “off the beaten track” routine in a limited time schedule. A three day, two night cruise on LaFairy Sails is the perfect choice for you to see the magnificent a New Wonder of the World – Halong Bay, the more primitive, off-the-beaten-track Bai Tu Long Bay and the isolated Lan Ha Bay, and to also get a close look at the area’s unique and spectacular limestone formations and caves.
You will not only visit the less visited sites and take part in a lot of interesting activities such as: swimming, kayaking, dinning in cave, visiting fishing village; but also will be inspired by thousands of fairy stories relating to the legendary bay.

2. Is it possible to be 3 Adults in the same room?

With large size from 15 sqm to 30 sqm, there are both of triple cabins and connecting cabins which can serve up to 5 adults. The triple room will be set up as: 1 double bed + 1 extra bed OR 2 twin beds + 1 extra bed. The connecting one owns a triple room and a double/twin roon. Especially our other Premium Balcony cabins will fix with 1 double bed and 1 single bed.

3. Where does your cruise start from?

La Fairy Sails disposes from Hon Gai pier where our fleet is anchored. Hon Gai is the least crowded of all and cruises which depart from here concentrate on touring Bai Tu Long Bay. Although it has the advantage of being a quiet waiting lounge, the facility here is not as developed as Tuan Chau Pier.

4. What should I wear on the boat?

No dress code is imposed onboard La Fairy Sails. We advise you to take light garments in Summer, sweaters and/or a jacket in Winter as it can get pretty chilly, especially at night. A raincoat will be useful any time of the year.
If you intend to do kayaking, plan to have a change of clothes as you will easily get wet. As for shoes, choose what is appropriate according to the temperatures and bring along rainers/walking shoes for the excursions (visiting caves, hiking, cycling, etc.). Don’t forget your bathing suit!
*** If you are cruising for 3 days/2 nights, you will be transferred on the second day, from about 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM on our day boat. You can plan to have a small backpack to take to the day boat as you will be able to leave the rest of your baggage in your cabin.

5. Is there any risk that La Fairy Sails may cancel the cruise?

La Fairy Sails never makes the decision to cancel a cruise. However, cruising and sailing in Halong Bay is strictly regulated by a local board: the Halong Bay Port Authority. Every morning, the Port Authority delivers a permit to each cruise company allowing them to sail in Halong Bay.
In case of bad weather conditions and risks of tropical storms, the Port Authority might limit the possibilities of cruising and even decide to cancel all cruises. Final decision by the Port of Authority is usually known only at 3.00 pm on the day of departure.
La Fairy Sails would inform all guests as soon as the information is available, which unfortunately might only be upon guest’s arrival at the marina.
Different possibilities are then offered to the guests.
